Capitol Corridor (to San Jose) with Amtrak Thruway Bus Route 55 service (to Monterey).

Also accessible via Coast Starlight (to Salinas) with Amtrak Thruway Bus Route 68 service (to Monterey). Route 68 will take you directly to the Aquarium.

Getting There

If you are taking the Capitol Corridor, once you arrive at the San Jose train station, you’ll transfer to Amtrak Thruway Bus (Route 55), which takes you to Monterey. Route 55 stops at two locations in Monterey: The Monterey Transit Plaza (MRY) located at 500 Tyler Street and the Monterey Parking Garage located at Tyler and Del Monte. From the Parking Garage bus stop, Monterey Bay Aquarium is about a one-mile walk.

Walking directions from the bus stop

Head north on Tyler St toward Bonifacio Place
Take a slight left at Lighthouse Avenue
Take a slight right at Foam Street
Turn right at Reeside Avenue
Turn left at Cannery Row
Turn right to stay on Cannery Row

The Monterey Bay Aquarium will be on the right just past the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company.
