The Arcata Amtrak Stop is located at the Arcata Transit Center, 925 "E" Street between 9th and 10th Sts. Arcata and Mad River Transit offers service between the Transit Center and Humboldt State University and other points in Arcata.
The stop is used by Amtrak Motor Coaches connecting from Amtrak California San Joaquin trains in Martinez and various locations along the North Coast of California, including Eureka, Santa Rosa, and Vallejo. This stop is not staffed by Amtrak, and therefore, there are no ticketing, baggage, or package express services at Arcata. The nearest Amtrak station offering these services is Martinez. NEW CRESCENT CITY and SMITH RIVER CONNECTION
Redwood Coast Transit (RCT) offers Monday through Saturday connecting service between Arcata, Crescent City, and Smith River. Fare from Arcata to Crescent City or Smith River is $20 exact fare required. You can purchase tickets at the Arcata Transit Center and from RCT at 140 Williams Drive, Crescent City.
To meet Amtrak California's motor coach to train San Joaquin train 718 in Martinez, board the RCT bus from Smith River at 6:45 a.m or at the Crescent City Cultural Center at 7:30 a.m. That bus arrives at the Arcata Transit Center at 9:27 a.m. about hour before Amtrak California's southbound departure (to train 718).
Train 711's Northbound Amtrak bus arrives at Arcata at 4:35 p.m., and RTC departs at 5:15 p.m., arriving at Crescent City at 7:08 p.m. and Smith River about 45 minutes later.
