The Bakersfield station, located at 601 Truxtun Avenue, is conveniently situated in downtown Bakersfield and within short walking distance of many restaurants, hotels, and the Rabobank Arena, Convention Center, and Theater. Also within walking distance are the McMurtrey Aquatic Center and the Bakersfield Ice Sports Center.

In addition, the Bakersfield Amtrak Station shares its parking lot with the Bakersfield Convention and Visitors Bureau, located at 515 Truxtun Avenue. The Bureau is an essential stop for visitors wanting to know more about what to do in Bakersfield. The Bureau is the building directly in front of the main doors of the Amtrak station.

The station offers all Amtrak amenities, including checked baggage service, package express, and full ticketing. There is ample free parking and the lobby is large, well-lit, and fully air-conditioned.

Outside, the waiting area offers canopied protection from summer sun and winter rain. Bus bays are close to the station tracks, reducing boarding time and delays.
