The Needles station ( "El Garces" ) is the site of the former Harvey House Hotel, Restaurant, and Santa Fe station in downtown Needles. The station is no longer staffed. All Santa Fe activity has been relocated to the old Santa Fe hospital building, just southeast of the station. No Amtrak facilities exist at this station, and therefore, no baggage or package express shipments can be made via Amtrak to/from Needles.

At the present time, Amtrak stops its Southwest Chief trains in Needles twice a day: Westbound from Chicago, departing Needles shortly after midnight, arriving in Los Angeles about 8:15 a.m. and once eastbound leaving Needles about 1:30 a.m. arriving in Chicago about 36 hours later. In addition, Amtrak serves Laughlin and Las Vegas, Nevada, with connecting buses operating to/from the Southwest Chief. All Amtrak service at Needles is reserved.
