Santa Clara - Great America

The Amtrak California Santa Clara -- Great America stop is located beneath Tasman Drive at the ex-Southern (now Union) Pacific tracks which parallel Lafayette Street, only a few blocks from Paramount's Great America, and the Santa Clara Convention Center.

This stop is used by both Amtrak California's Capitol Trains from Sacramento and Colfax, and the Altamont Commuter Express trains (ACE) which link the Stockton area with the silicon valley.

Effective May 21, 2007, weekend Amtrak motor coaches from the San Joaquin trains in Stockton will begin stopping at this station, thus permitting weekend access from the Central Valley to Paramount's Great America, Santa Clara Convention Center, and other area attractions.   During the week, this connection is provided by ACE trains in a partnership between Amtrak California and ACE.

The closest San Jose Trolley station, with connections to downtown San Jose,  is just above this station on Tasman Drive.

Santa Clara Valley Transit Authority bus routes 20, 59, 140, and 330 operate on Tasman Drive.

The station is an unstaffed stop. Neither tickets, baggage, nor package express shipments are handled at this location. A limited amount of on-street parking is available. Amtrak tickets may be purchased from an Amtrak travel agent, over the telephone from Amtrak at 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245) or over the Internet from Amtrak's home page, http://tickets.amtrak.com.

Santa Clara is home to Mission College, and Santa Clara University.
