The Santa Rosa stop is in front of the Courtyard by Marriot Hotel, 175 Railroad Street. It is not staffed by Amtrak. It is a stop for Amtrak Motor Coaches connecting Northwestern California communities with Amtrak California's San Joaquin and Capitol trains in Martinez. Neither tickets, baggage, nor package express shipments are handled at this location. Tickets may be purchased from an Amtrak travel agent, over the telephone from Amtrak at 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245) or over the internet from Amtrak's home page, www.tickets.amtrak.com.

Employees of the nearby Courtyard by Marriot's should not be expected to know the details of Amtrak motor coach arrivals and departures. For that information, call 1-800-USA-RAIL.

Luther Burbank lived and worked in Santa Rosa at the turn of the 20th Century, experimenting with plants and developing new food sources. His home and gardens are located in downtown Santa Rosa, and open to the public. (The City of Burbank is NOT named for Luther Burbank, but for a New Hampshire born dentist and late 19th Century land owner, Dr. David Burbank.)

You can see the home and works of another prominent Santa Rosan if you visit the recently opened (August 16, 2002) Charles M Schulz Museum. The Museum is a short ride by Santa Rosa CityBus Rte 17 from Third Street adjacent to the Marriot or from the downtown Transit Mall.
