There are TWO Amtrak stops in Sparks. One is for Amtrak motor coach connections to/from the San Joaquin route at Sacramento, California, while the second is a stop for the California Zephyr train which operates between Oakland and Chicago.

The Motor Coach stop is at The Nugget, 1100 Nugget Avenue, Sparks 89431 at the 11th Street Entrance.

The California Zephyr stop in in the middle of the Union Pacific railyard at Sparks. (Approximately at the track split on the adjacent map.) It is near The Nugget, but there is no coordination between schedules of the Zephyr and the Amtrak Motor Coaches. This stop is primarily a crew change location, and most passengers use the Reno station.
