Effective May 21, 2007, the former Amtrak California motor coach stop at Palm Desert was  relocated to Thousand Palms.

Amtrak California's Thousand Palms stop is located at the Jack in the Box Restaurant, 72955 Varner Road, Thousand Palms ((92276).  It is the stop for Amtrak California Motor Coaches connecting the Coachella Valley with Amtrak's San Joaquin trains in Bakersfield. The stop is unstaffed. There is no checked baggage or package express service to or from Thousand Palms.

Jack in the Box employees should not be expected to know about arrival and departure of Amtrak California buses.  For scheduled arrival and departure times, check the information post and sign at the bus stop.  As a courtesy to Jack in the Box, please do not leave automobiles in their parking lot.  Thank you.
